WebAssist Add-Ins for V4
« on: September 10, 2010, 04:35:34 AM »
WebAssist have now put their three V4 Add-Ins into their Free Downloads section, but have removed all other references to EW on their main site.

This is a great shame and we can only hope they'll reverse this decision and perhaps update their excellent CSS Sculptor for V4.

Like Ian, I hope that WebAssist will change their mind and return as a maker of Expression Web add-ins. Today I decided to give their Maps for Bing add-in a try. I liked the results it gave me so decided to write a tutorial on it.

It still needs some work but you can find it here http://www.expression-web-tutorials.com/maps-for-bing.html

I've used their Bing Search add-in and find that very good. Unlike the standard Bing search you can configure yourself, it puts the results on a separate page (The simple Bing version has them in a drop down box which then navigates away from your site).

One issue with it is that you can't use it as it is on ASPX pages or with ASPX Masterpages. If anyone wants to know how to do this I can put together a 'how-to'.

And you can attach your DWT to the pages (search and results) so that it looks like the rest of your site.

WebAssist software comes with two activations so you can install your software on two separate computers. You can even clear your activations directly within your Download Center.
